Agriculture’s volatility isn’t letting up but the revival of dairy from two low payout years appears to be making up for declining meat and wool returns.

The overall brighter outlook based on the dairy industry beginning to rebound and backed by horticulture and forestry growth has the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) optimistic the primary sector is entering a stable period.

Total export revenue is forecast to be $36.7 billion for the year to June and while this is down $0.3b from the previous year, better results are expected for coming years.
