South Korea’s exports of powdered milk have jumped nearly ninefold over the past decade on brisk sales in China, the world’s largest market for baby formula, government data showed Monday.

The value of powdered milk shipped overseas was at $121.5 million in 2016, up 861.9 percent from 2007, according to the data by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The trade balance recorded a surplus of $51.98 million last year, swinging back from a deficit of $6.5 million in 2007.
